2020 Pre War Guitars Company D-2018

Serial Number: 66251

SOLD - 2/23/2021 to Mark Cress

By now, most players are familiar with the Pre-War Guitar Company. If you aren’t, you should be. These folks from North Carolina are a small shop that’s producing faithful replicas of the highly desirable Martin and Gibson guitars of the 1930s. This model, suggested by David Grisman, is essentially what we know as a D-18, but with added appointments found on the 28 style instruments. it is a spectacular combination of looks, playability and sound, featuring a torrefied adirondack spruce top in the rare Martin style sunburst finish, with herringbone trim, bound in ivoroid with master-grade Honduran mahogany back and sides, also trimmed in ivoroid. The ebony fingerboard features slotted diamond inlays and the mahogany neck has the volute also found on high end Martins. These guitars are custom built with a choice of five levels of "distressing" — this instrument is level 1, which is as new with very light finish checking. The torrefication process yields a strong and resonant bass, warm and mellow midrange and a top end that sings sweetly as a bird!

I bought it brand new so it's a one owner.

Neck width is the standard 1-3/4".

By far the best, loudest, most balanced guitar I have owned, and I have owned a lot of guitars. Sounds great strumming and responds incredibly when you dig it to it.

This is great guitar though. Ben from Pre*War said he remembered it leaving their shop and simply said "It's a beast". He was not wrong. I have added a JJB Prestige 330 pickup with fingertip volume wheel hidden inside sound hole.

That being said, I would like to Pre-Order a Brazilian Rosewood or Granadillo Single 0 and can't order that without selling this one. One out, one in.

So if I could get out of it what I have in it I would part with it for $XXXX + Actual Shipping Cost - PPFF, Venmo, Cash App. Cont. U.S. only.

Thanks,

Jeff
